FULL OF PROMISE GOSPEL TALENT SEARCH GUIDELINES

 

RULES OF THE CONTEST:

 

Please read carefully before applying for any competition

 

  • These 4 Gospel talent Searches have been designed for young people between 16 - 25years old

  • Contestants may only enter once, either as an individual performer or as a member of a group

  • Groups may have up to a maximum of seven (7) members

  • NO profanity or vulgar lyrics is permitted in any vocal performance or dance music. These are Gospel events!

  • In the use of any electronic keyboard, the contestant must create all sounds live on stage

  • CD's may be reviewed by the organisers or judges to be sure no additional voices are pre-recorded

  • Sound Technician and microphone(s) will be provided. YOU must provide your own CD music, taped music, instruments, props, keyboard, etc.

  • CD's must be cued ready to perform (contestants are advised to bring a backup CD copy, just in case original is faulty)

  •  

    Contestants must be amateur, non-professional performers. The determination of who is an amateur is in the sole discretion of the organisers and the judges of the Competition (the "Judges") and the organisers or the Judges may refuse to consider any entry from or performance by any person who may be considered by them not to be an amateur or group containing a person who may be considered by them not to be an amateur.

     

    For the purpose of the Contest, a person to be considered an amateur must at least meet all of the following criteria:

     

    1. Someone who is not nor has ever been a member of a union connected with public artistic performances.

    2. Someone who does not earn and has not ever earned more than 50% of his or her annual income from performing.

    3. Someone who has not sung or performed on a record, CD or video released for commercial distribution.

    4. Someone who is not a party to a management or booking contract with a professional firm or Individual who is paid a fee for securing employment in the entertainment field.

    5. Someone who does not have a current recording contract with a distribution company.

     

    GENERAL CONDITIONS

     

    Full of Promise reserves the right to make any final decisions on all matters not covered by these rules and regulations, as well as the right to change, alter and/or rearrange parts or all of these competition rules and regulations at any time. Full Of Promise is not responsible for any expenses incurred by Contestants.

     

    The organisers in its sole discretion may accept or refuse to accept entry forms that are late, incomplete or illegible.

     

    Contestants grant Full Of Promise the right to photograph, film, video and/or digitally record their performances at any of the live shows or in conjunction with the Competition for future promotional purposes. All entries and submissions and the content thereof become the sole and exclusive property of Full of Promise and may not be returned. Full Of Promise cannot be held responsible for any additional online viewing of other parties as a result of a public posting. The circulation of the YouTube posting is the responsibility of the contestant. As a condition of the Contestant being permitted to compete in Competition, each Contestant i) grants permission to Full Of Promise to use, without compensation of any kind to the contestant, any photograph, audio or video tape or other audio or visual image or recording including digital recordings, or any portion or portions thereof, in such manner as Full Of Promise may determine including in any promotions or advertising, and ii) waives any right to any fee or compensation for any of the aforesaid and iii) releases Full Of Promise from any loss, damage, injury, or expense which the Contestant may suffer or incur as a result of his or her participation in the Competition, howsoever caused.

     

    INDEMNITY OF PARENT OR GUARDIAN OF A MINOR

    Any entry from any person under the age of 18 must also be signed by such minor person's parent or legal guardian (the "Parent/Guardian") consenting to such minor person entering the Competition and acknowledging the consents and waivers and indemnities hereby contained made by such minor person and the Parent/Guardian agrees to indemnify and save harmless FULL OF PROMISE for any loss, damages, costs, expenses, injury, claims or actions, including solicitors costs, which FULL OF PROMISE may suffer or incur by reason of any matter or thing relating to arising from the involvement or participation of the minor person in the Competition.

     

    AUDITIONS

     

    Auditions are held in London and Glasgow.

     

    LONDON

    London Auditions will usually be held in early September. Audition venues are confirmed to applicants by email The closing date for applications is 31st August .

     

    SCOTLAND

     

    Glasgow Auditions will usually be held in early September. Audition venues are confirmed to applicants by email The closing date for applications is the 28th September 2013

    AUDITION DAY

     

     

    Full Of Promise maintains a "POLISH NOT DEMOLISH " approach to all its talent searches therefore auditions are held in private and are closed to the public and will be in front of a professional panel.

    Successful online applicants will be allocated a 5 min time slot (between 1 - 8pm) by email or phone so, it is essential that all contact details are accurate and up to date

    Give yourself plenty of time to arrive and register before your allocated time (aim to arrive 30 minutes early)

    Individual auditionees should provide a passport sized photo which will be attached to registration forms and group entries should provide a group photo to include all the members of the group. This will enable the Audition panel to recollect auditionees during decision making.

    A CD player will be provided so make sure all CDS are correctly labelled and ready to play the designated track

     

    YOUR PERFORMANCE

     

    Audition performances should be no longer than 3 minutes and will be followed by a 2 minute brief interview with the panel

    It is very important to make an instant impression so ensure you showcase the best of your talent early in your audition

    The judges will be primarily looking at vocal /musical and lyrical talent as well as choreographic ability, however performance quality, confidence and image of auditionees will be closely observed so make sure you perform like you are on stage!

    Singing auditionees will be asked to sing a of 2 minutes acapella (for auditions only) so that a true vocal quality can be assessed without music.

    Rap auditionees will be required to audition freestyle as well as to music beats so that lyrical content and flow style can be evaluated(each performance piece must be no longer than 1 minutes 30 seconds)

    Dance auditionees will be asked to perform a 2 minute choreographed piece.

     

    NOTIFICATION

     

    London

     

    Successful auditionees who are selected to advance to the qualifying heats will be notified either on the day or by phone or email within 3 days of the Auditions. Specific dates for the Audienced shows will be confirmed at this point.

     

    Scotland

     

    Successful auditionees who are selected to advance to the qualifying heats will be notified either on the day or by phone or email within 3 days of the Auditions. Specific dates for the Audienced shows will be confirmed at this point.

     

    LIVE SHOWS

     

    Live shows will begin from October 2013 onwards and will be held in London and Glasgow

    Contestants will be allowed a maximum of 4 minutes to perform. Please note that acts will be penalised if time is exceeded

    All acts will be performed to music and all selected performers must be available for technical rehearsals on a date and time designated by the organisers

    The Live shows will involve 3 stages for each Talent search category. These will be as follow:

    Quarter finals

    Semi finals

    Finals

    The quarter and semi finals are qualifying rounds and successful contestants advancing through to the next level will find out on the day.

     

    AUDIENCE APPEAL

     

    Contestants are encouraged to publicise the events to maximise their support and fan base within the audience. Every member of the audience with a ticket will be given an opportunity to vote for the two contestants that impressed them the most making for a fair results outcome. The audience votes will be added to the overal judges votes to ensure that the competition is conducted fairly and without bias.

    JUDGING

     

    Contestants will be judged on the following criteria:

    TICKETS

     

    Live show admission will be by ticket only (Tickets are per person) The proceeds from the sale of the tickets are used to cover our talent search overheads and to help fund our giving Project .

    Please note:

     

    ALL CONTESTANTS ARE ENCOURAGED TO SELL AT LEAST 10 TICKETS FOR THEIR PARTICULAR SHOW CASE AS THIS PROMOTES THEIR EVENTS AND ENCOURAGES FAMILY AND FRIENDS TO ATTEND AND SUPPORT THEM.

    PRIZES

     

    WINNING PRIZE

     

    A CASH PRIZE of £1000 WILL BE AWARDED TO THE EACH OF THE OVERALL TALENT SEARCH WINNERS WITH THE EXCEPTION OF BARAK uk which offers a prize incentive of £1500 TO HELP THE YOUNG RECOPIENTS TO FYRTHER DEVELOP THEIR TALENTS.

     

    FAN BASE AWARD PRIZE (THIS IS OPTIONAL)

    For each Live show a prize will be awarded to the Contestant that sells the most tickets(to qualify at least 20 tickets or more must be sold)

     

    AUDIENCE PRIZES

     

    Many prizes will be given away to random members of the audience during the Live shows further adding an extra level of excitement to the various competitions.

     

    A FINAL NOTE TO APPLICANTS

     

    As with every competition there must be an overall winner however, the main aim of these competitions is to encourage, promote and develop outstanding talents within the young community by showcasing the hard work and efforts that individuals have excelled to in order to bring out the best within them.
